You & Me, by bluemagnet22

I saw you today,
But you're not as I remember.
Your eyes no longer sparkle,
You've changed since last September.

You were so full of life,
Yet now you are so cold.
Your personality has tarnished,
When you once had a heart of gold.

You fell out of my life,
Just like leaves in the fall.
We were so very close,
Now you're not here at all.

You saw me today,
I'm the same as you remember.
My eyes still sparkle,
I've not changed since last September.

  1. This poem really relates to my life. It reminds me of an old friend who I have become distant with. We used to be best friends since we were in first grade. As soon as high school began she got so caught up in being popular and hanging around with the "cool crowd" she forgot about all of her old friends. She has changed a lot, especially personality wise, we are still friends, but nothing like what we used to be. Her change was not for the better, she is involved in a lot of bad things, and does certain things just to fit in. This happens to a lot of people transistioning from middle school to high school and it's so sad. This poem explains our friendship to a tee.
