Just started The Reader, by Bernhard Schlink. He is an amazing author who as born Germany in 1944, and is a professor of law at the University of Berlin. He has written several prize winning crime novels and in his spare time he is a practicing judge.
Even though its early on in the book I can already tell that it is going to be interesting, I am really into books and TV shows that deal with crime and how to solve it. The book begins with Michael, a fifteen year old boy who is just getting over his illness of hepatitis. While on one of his many daily walks he meets a woman named Hannah. They begin to spend more and more time together, but they aren't like a typical dating couple because she is 37, while he is 15. They never talk to each other or even ask for each other's names. I find this really weird and awkward, how could they be falling in love with each other when they don't even know each other by a first name basis?
Finally they begin conversing like a normal couple, but Michael figures out he is more deeply involved in the relationship than she is. He gets frustrated about it, but doesn't want to start any arguments because he fears he might loose her.
So far this book is a great read and I suggest all of you read it! I can't wait to see where their relationship goes, and how much longer Michael will continue letting Hannah Take over his life. I will keep ya posted.
