Time Traveler's Wife Pages 501-536 (the end)

December 31, 2006 Claire is 35 and Henry is 43: It is New Years Eve and Henry and Claire are having a party.  They spent all day cleaning and cooking.  Henry was kind of reluctant about having a party but now he seems perfectly content.  He is teaching Alba how to cook.  The doorbell rings at 8:05 and the first guests arrive.  It is Henry's dad.  They have invited everyone they know, Claire's artist friends, Henry's co-workers, random friends, and family.  Claire still can't get the though of Henry passing away out of her head.  She doesn't know when it will happen or how.  She starts drinking to get it off of her mind. By 8:50 the house is packed.  Henry escapes to the back porch.  Claire joins him under a blanket.  They are kissing and suddenly Henry is gone.  He travels to the meadow where he gets shot by Claire's father and brother.  A few moments later Henry comes back to the present and slams down onto the kitchen floor.  He is bleeding terribly and Claire calls the ambulance right away.  Claire hold him in her arms crying, she doesn't want to lose him.  A few minutes later Henry died.
Friday, February 2, 2007 Claire is 35:  It has been almost two months since Henry has passed away and Claire is still grieving terribly.  She can't get over him, she can't let him go.  Later that day Claire is going through Henry's stuff and finds a letter addressed to her.  It is titled "A letter to be opened in the event of my death."  He tells her in the letter that he sees her again in the future.  He sees her as an old lady, in the same house they lived together in their whole lives.  This brings a smile to Claire's face.  He reassures her that he will definitely see her again in heaven.
Overall i loved this book.  The ending made me very emotional.  I could only imagine the kind of pain Claire is feeling right now.  i have never really lost anyone super close to me, i am dreading the day that it happens.  I would recommend this book to anyone, it has an awesome story line.  I haven't seen the movie yet, but now that i have read the book I am going to watch the movie and compare the two.
