Spellbound

  Ashley and Neil are two of the eight main characters in the 2002 documentary, Spellbound.  Although these characters have the same goal, to be the national spelling bee champion, they have different ways of getting there.  Ashley is laid back, yet determined.  She relays on praying when she is stressed out but pushes herself to her limit.  Neil is also very spiritual, relaying on meditation for stress removal.  He is more of the "nerdy" type, studying 24/7.  Both Ashley and Neil have very supportive families to encourage them and keep them uplifted in happy thoughts.  Neil's family takes his studying to a level above and beyond Ashley's though.  Neil's father is constantly obsessing over words and constantly making Neil memorize new words out of the dictionary.  Neil's father has an usually high sense of arrogance, as if he is trying to succeed through his family.  Overall both Ashley and Neil have set high goals for themselves and will exceed in anything they do.
