Country Boy Comparison
The film "Country Boys," successfully depicted the run down and harsh lives experienced by Cody and Chris. Both of the boys attend the David School, and alternative high school. Cody is an ornery kid who doesn't know what grade he is. He is considered to be from a higher class family, while Chris is from a typical lower class family like most other families living in his town. Cody's life is especially difficult because both of his parents died. His mother killed herself when he was a baby, and his father killed himself when he was a teen. He currently lives with Liz, his dad's ex-wife's mother. He has a girlfriend, Jessica, and her father acts like a father figure to him. He is into a mix of gothic, metal, and christian music. He is very ornery and disrespectful to his teachers. Chris on the other hand has a stable, but poor family life. He shares a trailer home with his mom, his dad, and his little sister. His dad is terminally ill, he has been an alcoholic for years and his liver is dying. Chris is basically invisible. He has so friends at school, because he is socially awkward. He created his own super hero, and when times get tough he turns into him. He is very determined though, he wants to excel in whatever he does and his teachers, and his parents can see it. He started a David Newsletter at his school, and is going to be the main editor for it. He is getting better at talking to people so he doesn't feel as alone. Overall, both the boys have tough situations to get through, but with determination and perseverance they can overcome anything.
